SOME OF THE BEST GREYHOUNDS WE HAVE IN MIND
GB Ch Treetops Hawk
bred and owned by Mrs Judy de Casembroot in 1951. This striking red brindle dog was known for tremendous quality and ring presence, incl. fabulous movement, we very seldom see in the modern greyhounds. He was BOB at Crufts in 1953 and 1955, won 14 CC’s and several BIS wins. It was as a stud that he was to excel, getting some 30 champions, incl seven English champions. You will often find Hawk many times behind show greyhounds of today, known as “the daddy of them all”.
AM Ch, GB Ch Seagift Parcancady Royaltan
bred by Mr Peter George in Cornwall in 1953 and like his littermate Bluebell, of the similar type as their sire Hawk, combining breed type, size, power and grace to perfection. Bought as youngsters by Mrs Dorothy Whitwell, who added her prefix Seagift to their names. After winning well in England, both went to USA, and Royaltan was to exert tremendous influence on the breed, being the sire of several famous top winners.

AM Ch, GB Ch Seagift Parcancady Bluebell
was a litter sister to Royaltan, winning 8 CC’s and 10 BIS in England before leaving to USA, where she went on winning in high score in the ownership of Mr Stanley D. Petter, Jr., Hewly kennels.

AM Ch, GB Ch Shalfleet Starlight of Foxden
bred by Mrs Barbara Hannaford (formerly Wilton-Clark) in 1963. She made her mark in the show ring in the mid 1960s winning many high honours incl. 7 BIS before going on to a second career in the USA where she hit the top spots again incl. 8 BIS in the ownership of Mr James A. Farrells, Jr, Foxden kennels.
GB Ch Shalfleet Sir Lancelot
bred by Mrs Barbara Hannaford (Wilton-Clark) in 1970, a litter brother to Spode below. Lancelot was to many breeders and judges the greatest greyhound ever, fitting the standard to perfection. He won 19 CC’s, the Hound Group at Crufts 1973, BIS at the 1973 Hound Show and runner-up in the 1976 Crufts Hound Group. He left his mark on the breed by producing six English champions incl. Ch Solstrand Harvest Moon ex our Int Ch Solstrand Deep Blues of Showline.

GB Ch Shalfleet Spode
was a litter brother to Lancelot. She was a great bitch having a strong showing career, incl. winning BIS at the 1970 Hound show. Many breeders and judges thought she was even better than her famous brother! These two littermates did the double set of CC’s several times.

AM Ch Aroi Swinging the Blues
was bred by Ms Georgiana Mueller and owned by Mrs. Singleton. She was a daughter of Royaltan getting his “look” and type. She was a GCA Specialty BIS winner and twice BOB at Westminster.
AM Ch Aroi Talk of the Blues
was bred by Ms Georgiana Mueller in 1974 and owned by Mrs Gloria Reese, California. “Punky” was line bred to Royaltan, getting his exclusive outline. Her career record stands at 68 All Breed BIS, 5 GCA Specialty BOB, and 168 Group firsts, incl winning twice the Hound Group at Westminster, being Top Dog All Breeds in 1976 and runner-up in 1977! “Punky” was a half sister to our Int Ch Solstrand Autumn Leaves of Showline.
GB Ch Shaunvalley Cavalier
bred by Mr Frank Brown in 1966. This beautiful male is behind several top winners around the world. He was the sire of seven English champions as well as our Int Ch Solstrand Deep Blues of Showline.

AM Ch, CA Ch, GB Ch Solstrand Blues Image
bred by Mrs Dagmar Kenis Pordham in 1971. She got her American and Canadian title before leaving for England and after her quarantine she even got her English title as well as winning the Hound Group at LKA. “Blue” was a litter sister to Am Ch Solstrand Bossa Nova, the dam of our Int Ch Solstrand Deep Blues of Showline and Am Ch Solstrand Blythe Spirit, the dam of our Int Ch Solstrand Autumn Leaves of Showline.

GB Ch Solstrand Double Diamond
bred by Mrs Dagmar Kenis Pordham in 1973. His show record speaks for itself, 5 BIS and 12 Hound Groups at Championship shows, incl. Crufts. He was the sire of seven English champions, with many more overseas. “Johnny” was a litter sister to our Int Ch Solstrand Deep Blues of Showline.
C.I.B, NO Ch, SE Ch Honey-Classic White Elephant
bred by Mrs Inger Nilsson in Sweden in 1983. He had a very nice show career, but even better as a stud dog. “Ike” was a younger brother to Am Ch My Adventure and Am Ch Hero Kingsmark, and a litter brother to our Int Ch Honey-Classic Liberty Light. I have had the pleasure judging him.
C.I.B, NO Ch, SE Ch Gulds Tawny Topstar
bred by Mrs Ann Gustafsson in Sweden in 1985. “Toppis” had a very nice show career incl. winning BIS Veteran and Best in Show at The Swedish Sighthound Specialty in 1993. He was a stud dog of significance and is behind many top winning offspring. I have had the pleasure judging him.
